Best Ever Fruit Salad

Over Christmas we had friends over to have brunch and play games.  We had an amazing breakfast feast and then played Girls vs. Boys Celebrity Taboo (which got a little competitive).  It was a very fun afternoon.  I have decided to share one of my favourite brunch dishes.  I learned this trick from my sister, Johanna Smith.  A few years ago for Christmas I was up in the Yukon (-40C below) and she made the freshest and best fruit salad I've ever had.  This secret ingredient is so simple and gives it a fresh splash (especially in the winter).

Best Ever Fruit Salad:
- Various fruit chopped (berries, orange, grapefruit, banana, apple, mango ect..I try and use whatever fruit is in season)
- 1 lime (zest and juice)
- Starfruit or Golden berries to Garnish

Chopped desired fruit in a bowl.  Zest the lime and then squeeze one lime over the fruit and Ta - Da!

You might think to yourself... that is too simple.  Try it at your next brunch and you will see when you WOW your guests!  Garnish with a slice of exotic fruit such as starfruit or golden berries.

Table set and ready for our friends to arrive.

A little garnish of Starfruit and Golden Berries
